Hess Ice Rink is pleased to announce the schedule for the 2025 - 2026 Learn to Skate USA program. To get started, simply complete the Registration Form below and submit payment in full prior to the start of the first session.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL PROGRAMS!

Snowplow Sam (1 & 2)

​

This class is designed for beginners with no previous experience, ages 4 & up, to learn the basic skills of ice skating. All classes will be taught in a safe and positive environment,
incorporating fun and games making class an enjoyable experience for all.

​

Basic (1 & 2)

These levels are the next steps after completing and passing both Snowplow Sam classes. These levels build and develop the skills previously learned helping the skater gain confidence in their moves.

​

Basic (3 – 6)

​

These levels develop all the fundamental skating skills on the ice. The focus is on learning the ABCs of basic athleticism: agility, balance, coordination, and speed. Upon completion of
these levels, skaters will be able to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating.

Hockey (Levels 1-4)

​

HOCKEY BEGINNERS ARE REQUIRED TO START AT SNOWPLOW SAM! SKATERS
MUST BE IN FULL HOCKEY GEAR.

Designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. Proper skating techniques for the game of hockey are the primary focus of the levels. All elements will be taught without a puck. Skaters will learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and other necessary fundamentals to be successful in hockey practices and game situations.

*Pre-registration is required and payment is due two weeks prior to class start. No late registration will be accepted. 

 

Class size is limited and cannot exceed capacity.

2025 - 2026 Class Schedule (Saturday Mornings):

​Session 1: September 6 - October 11

Session 2: November 1 - December 6

Session 3: January 10 - February 14

2025 - 2026 Session Times:

​

9:00 - 9:30 AM: Snowplow Sam 1, 2

9:00 - 10:00 AM: Basic 1 - 6 &  Hockey 1-4

​

2025 - 2026 Costs:

​

Snowplow Sam - $75 (1/2 hr. instruction)

Basic 1 - 4 & Hockey - $125 (1/2 hr. instruction & 1/2 hr. supervised practice)

*In addition to session registration costs. 

​

** Skate rental included in all session costs.
